Local COVID Vaccination Programme

Recently, the UK managed to meet its target of vaccinating the nation's over 50s and most vulnerable patients and Burford Surgery is proud to have played our small part in that. We are excited to now be moving onto the next stage of the vaccination programme.
Patients under 50 will be receiving a letter from the national vaccination programme inviting them to one of the larger vaccination sites nearby (including Kassam Stadium in Oxford and sites in Swindon) or possibly at Lloyds Pharmacy in Carterton. We encourage our patients in this age group to take up this offer and book in for their appointment either online or by calling 119. Please note the vaccination centre at Carterton Health Centre is not one of these sites.
In the meantime, Burford Surgery will be focussed on inviting patients who have already had their first vaccination to visit our GP led vaccination site at Carterton Health Centre for their second vaccination.
We continue to offer our routine care during this time but this may be limited on days that we are running vaccine clinics and we request that you continue to bear with us. We will update our telephone message daily to inform you whether a clinic is running that day. All appointments will initially be offered as a telephone appointment and your GP will invite you down to the surgery for a face-to-face appointment if felt clinically necessary. This reduces risk to both patients and staff. Our ability to provide a quality service to our patients has been stretched during the last few months and is the reason that we are choosing not to continue with the vaccination programme for patients under 50 years of age.
We thank you for all your messages of support and for your patience at this time.
